Bargara beach is the largest of the seaside towns near Bundaberg and lies just 14km East of the city centre. Located
just 4 ½ hours drive North of Brisbane or a 1 hour flight. There is also a daily return tilt train service to Brisbane,

Burnett Heads
Burnett Heads extends from the mouth of the Burnett River southwards along the coast to the northern end of the Mon
Repos beach. This river and seaside township is well known for it's fishing and boating activities.
The area is characterised by the boat harbour, marina, boat ramps Blue Water Club, new shopping centre, caravan
park and community facilities.
Just upstream from Burnett Heads is the Port Bundaberg big ship and sugar terminal facility and a new marina.
Mon Repos
Mon Repos beach is the largest and most accessible loggerhead turtle rookery in the South Pacific. Nesting and hatching
turtles can be viewed under supervision of the Rangers of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife services.
Innes Park / Coral Cove
Coral Cove resort and residential estate is based around an 18 hole international golf course, which has the only Par
6 in Australia.
The large park area and protected swimming area close to Palmers Creek is a very attractive location for picnics,
swimming and family outings.
The Innes Park Country Club is a popular spot with the locals and visitors. The club boasts an 18 hole golf course,
entertaining 'putt putt' course and good dining facilities.
Elliott Heads
Elliott Heads is an established coastal residential area extending from the mouth of the Elliott River northwards along
the coast. It is characterised by a generous esplanade and enjoys panoramic views to the ocean and across the river.
The township contains general stores, a Caravan Park, public hall and bowls club. There is a small ocean beach and a
Surf Lifesaving club in front of the Caravan Park and quieter beaches and a boat ramp within the river mouth.
Riverview is a popular fishing retreat upstream from Elliott Heads.
Coral Coast - Bundaberg
General
The coastal area has a temperate climate with a maritime influence. It has been described as one of the better living
climates in Australia. The area experiences mild winters and moderate summers, offering idyllic living conditions for
locals and visitors to the region.
Daily temperatures vary on average between 21 and 30 C maximum to about 10 to 21 C minimum in the evenings and at
night. The Shire has an annual average rainfall of 1,000 - 1,150 millimetres falling mainly during the summer.
Between Burnett Heads to the north and Elliott Heads to the south, the coastline is characterised by a number of short
stretches of sandy beaches interspersed with basalt boulders.
The local estuaries and rivers provide calm waters for boating, fishing, swimming and other water sports.
